Ideas for this wall?

We have just moved into a new house and not sure what to do with the wall in the kitchen?

Would it look better painted another colour? Darker perhaps?

Or maybe a clock or shelf placed above range cooker?

Not sure whether to tile behind it?

Just after some ideas please as looks a bit plain at the moment. The kitchen is a duck egg blue colour and the walls a very pale grey.

No it would be too much.

The chimney breast is quite a big area and I personally think going darker might be too much (and risk losing the contrast with the black range cooker)

I agree, keep the chimneybreast light

I would tile in the recess -probably something fairly dark then put a large piece of sculpture on the wall above - something made from natural materials/forms made from basketry/ceramics/wood or similar.
Or a small but striking collection of plates or baskets hung on the wall for a touch of colour/interest as your kitchen is lovely, but blank canvas at the moment.
