Does anyone here have a Bosch integrated washing machine?

My washing machine has died. Really annoying as by the end of the year we’d hoped to have had work done on the house that would allow us to have freestanding. We can’t fit freestanding in the existing space so we need to go for another integrated. I really want to get a Bosch (quiet is my main criteria and I think they’re best for this) but they only seem to do two integrated models, neither of which, according to the specs on AO, has a hand wash programme. I find this hard to believe as I thought it was a pretty standard programme now. Also, the picture of the control panel show a wool programme with the little hand symbol.

Is wool wash the same as hand wash?

And if you have a Bosch integrated I’d love to hear what you think of it.

Thanks.

I got one about 8 months ago- really pleased with it. Quiet and you can shorten programmes easily. I’ve just looked in the instruction book and it says that the wool programme can be used for hand washable items containing wool but I don’t see why it couldn’t be used for any hand wash items. We are about to move house and will need to buy a washing machine and dishwasher. Will be going to Bosch for both!

Thanks @user1471542288, that’s good to know. I had a Bosch dishwasher in my last house. It was great. When we first got it I had to check it was working - it was so unbelievably quiet!

Do you know if your washing machine is the series 6 or 8?

I have series 8, not integrated but it has a wool programme that works well for hand wash stuff. For delicately delicate stuff I put it in bags, and I drop the temperature from 30 to 20 for wool, but it is good.

Thanks @Bcnamechanger. If the old machine had held out longer I would have been able to go for a freestanding. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the integrated models have a 20 degree wash

Mine is series 8 also. Our current dishwasher is a Siemens ( same group as Bosch) and has a pullout cutlery tray as opposed to a basket. I really like it and will choose a replacement with that feature.

I have a Bosch integrated that has a "cold" with handwash symbol setting and a wool setting. I don't think I've ever used either!! It's old though, I've had it at least 10 years.

Should have added it's a Logixx7

we had one. but when it broke (after 7 years) we replaced it with a freestanding miele.
we needed to shorten the plinth for it to fit, but that was easy to do.

My Bosch tumble drier broke 1 month after the 2 year warranty expired!! So far I’ve waited 2.5 months for the spare part. Apparently there are delays due to it being “from Europe”!! I’ve had to pay £105 to the engineer for an initial appointment. When he came to fix the issue, he discovered that a second part inside is faulty too 🤦🏼‍♀️ He’s supposed to be coming back on Monday to fix the machine. Will never choose Bosch again. Our Samsung wash ecobubble is still going strong after 8 years. We also had Miele in a previous house and that was great too

Oh that is bad luck @LochNessSwim - must be infuriating. I have a Miele tumble dryer and it really does seem to be built to last. Used to have a Miele washing machine and I found it to be quite noisy - hence my desire for Bosch which are always rated for their quietness.

@redcandlelight - did you not find the freestanding machine too deep to fit under the counter? They all seem to be quite a bit deeper than integrated.

Personally I wouldn’t be worried if it stuck out a bit as I know it’s only temporary but I’m worried it’s a bit tight width ways too.

we measured the existing machine and it was the same dimensions minus the door.

I have a Bosch washer dryer series 6, 10kg wash/6kg dry, fabulous machine, but it has taken a bit of getting used too, much more sophisticated than my previous hotpoint, but at nearly 3 times the price it should be.

Yes mine was deeper, couldn’t open the cupboard door! Definitely check the depth, not just the width, note to self in future. We swapped around the washer dryer with the dishwasher.

The machine is very quiet. Compared to my previous washing machine, which is great, we have a big open plan kitchen breakfast room that’s tiled so noise does tend to travel.
