Most people sell their properties whilst they are living in them.
I moved out for a while to redecorate etc
I was wondering if they intend to sell to an investor

They may just think it will be quicker and easier to sell a no chain property. Regardless, you don't have to do what the estate agent asks! It seems and odd request to me.

Yes there is no chain so easier than me having to move all my stuff in again.

who you sell to is up to you. You pay the agent so ask them what they are planning.

Yes, they may think that since it is all fresh and newly decorated, that potential buyers will be impressed and want to snap it up. I'd certainly give it a try , the RE is experienced and may be right. Good luck.

Most do but its an utter nightmare that most people can't avoid. If you have the option to avoid it then do! Living in a house while estate agents are trying to sell it is miserable if you are trying to keep the house at top presentation. Trying to move out of the old house and into the new house on the same day is terrible as well.

When I was selling a small studio flat the estate agent recommended that I sell it empty. It worked, and I sold quickly (to an investor). However, I wasn’t living in it at the time so this was much easier to achieve. Have you asked the estate agent why they’ve suggested it?
