Mending a cracked porch floor

I’ve just jazzed up my front door (new paint, new furniture), doing the frame next and replacing the draught strip, will sand back and prime/paint the wooden step, etc. No budget to get the open porch properly done – ceiling price on renovation, no one else on this road has the full tiled number, haven’t got the money.

So what can I do with this cracked floor? Is there such a thing as exterior floor polyfilla for DIY bodge enthusiasts? And paint? What kind of paint? I just want it to look smart and cared-for, to justify weeding the path and sticking a bay tree in a pot next to it.

Maybe something like this

Yes. Is it concrete? You can get tubs of ready mixed concrete floor filler for both deep holes and hairline cracks. You can also get concrete paints. Do a Google search for "concrete floor repair" and you'll get results for products and how to DIY . If it's wood you can also get wood fillers and wood floor paints. Follow the instructions. It is definitely DIYable. If there is a lot of traffic you may find you have to repaint fairly regularly. I like a big doormat so that as much grit and dust as possible is stopped before being tracked into the house.

I wouldn't bodge that. Those large bits look really loose. The top layer needs removing before re pouring any cement.

Thank you all! Ready-mix repair sounds more at my ability level than mixing and pouring anything. Unfortunately whatsnewpussyhat is right; I went out and kicked at the big bits and they are loose. So it’s more than a half-arsed lunchtime job. Bah.
