Dear all,

We have been house hunting for months and have finally found not one but two houses that we really like! 🙄 both are detached good size family houses for approximately the same price, one is in Surbiton (closer to Long Ditton) and the other one is in Worcester park closer to the Nonsuch park. DH is more keen on the WP house because the garden is huge while I'm pro-Surbiton as I know the area fairly well. Have no idea about WP and have no friends there :( could someone please share any knowledge on the WP area? We are both professionals keen on having a quite suburban family life with an easy access to central London. 🙏🏻

I live in Cheam by nonsuch park and have lived in Worcester park and I really have loved both areas.
Parks and local green spaces are good, good schools and good location for various places - Kingston, Banstead, Epsom, Wimbledon are all in easy reach.
I really love where we live and don't foresee us moving from the area.

In some respects they are pretty similar in that one isn’t in central Surbiton and the other not in Worcester Park as such.
I’m more of a fan of Surbiton than Nonsuch Park but it’s just personal choice.
Both locations easy access to others and pretty close to each other. Your best bet really is to drive around both areas specifically Nonsuch Park area to get a feel for it. I think Surbiton trains are good, I like the river and prefer the High Street and the general housing stock, roads etc.

I much prefer Cheam proper to Nonsuch Park.
So basically I’ve been no help at all !

You have been really helpful, thank you. Location wise WP house is only 5-7 mins walk to high street/Waitrose unlike the Surbiton one which is a longer walk to the amenities so we'll decide over the weekend :) Thank you once again

Hi just wanted to find out which area you went for in the end. I am also looking to move to the same area and also having the same dilemma.

I’m on Team Surbiton for you - which bit of Long Ditton?

If you have younger kids, getting them into the Long Ditton or Thames Ditton schools would probably get them into Hinchley Wood for secondary which is a huge plus.

Hi, we are moving into New Malden 😂 we based our decision on the proximity to the station/outstanding school/house price. We would have bought in Worcester park but the house in New Malden just popped up the day after we decided to go for WP. My view is all the areas are nice so you base your decision on your lifestyle and the house itself (value for money etc). Good luck!!! X

@VL2020 enjoy the Korean food. There are some really nice places to eat there.
