Any recommendations for fitted wardrobe companies?

Talk to me about fitted wardrobes!

So far I’ve only looked at sharps but I’m really looking for recommendations for any other companies, and also any companies to avoid.

We have a 1930’s house and we want them fitted into the alcoves either side of the chimney breast in the front bedroom. Has anyone else had similar and if so how much did they cost you?

Try asking a local Facebook group for a good joiner. They usually do free quotes and have plenty of recommendations.

I did similar for shelving units in our living room, and they turned out fantastically, really smart and look like they’ve always been there. The guy also does fully customisable wardrobes, and I was glad to give the money to a self employed local tradesman rather than a chain.

Forgot to say- our units are alcoves as well and cost £1200 including a spray coating of Farrow and Ball

We had Hammonds round today to quote us for fitted wardrobes in bedroom alcoves + bedside tables + dressing table. Also a 1930s semi. It was just under 6k. We've got sharps coming round tomorrow as well.

We had Sharps round last week. 3 bedrooms. Double wardrobe in an alcove and floor to ceiling shelves over the chimney breast in one, built in wardrobe, desk and 2 shelves in the 2nd and triple wardrobe, set of shelves and desk in the 3rd. £11.5k 😳. I reckon we can get a local carpenter for 1/2 that. Waiting for a quote.

Local carpenter has quoted me nearly 5k for alcoves.

I won't be partaking.

Also looking for a company to fit wardrobes so filling this thread with interest.

Gliderobes. I’m so evangelical about them that I wonder if I can ask for commission 😂 Literally a third the price of Sharps and Hammonds, and the local carpenter I contacted, great service, highly recommend.
