What would you use a proper 'she shed' for?

I'm moving house and the new house has a properly built shed, it has electric in and is currently being used as a workshop for the sellers son obviously this will be in need of prettying up 🙂 but what would you use it for once it's looking lovely again, I'd like to start a bit of a side business but not sure yet until we've moved in what that might be so what ideas do you all have for it?

That sounds great. Right now, I would move myself into it with a load of books, chocolate and baked beans, lock the door and scream fuck off at anyone who comes near it.

Depends entirely on your family and what needs you have. I have a shed, which is used to store outdoor toys and gardening equipment. Never occurred to me to refer to it as a “she shed” although I’m not sure DH has ever been into it.

If you plan to start a side business then for now put in a desk, chair and shelves so you can plan your business?

I love water so I would put a swim spa in it.

@grooticle we will have a garage (husband turning into gym and storahlge as we won't use for a car?) and another shed for bikes, lawn mower etc so the shed is mine to do as I please 🙂

I'd still use it as a workshop but make it a nice environment to be in

I've recently moved into a house with a detached double garage and it's become my 'She Shed'

I do my workouts in there, upcycle bits of furniture, and have neatly arranged all our camping gear and miscellaneous house stuff onto cheap shelves from Ikea. The tumble dryer is in there too.

There is a standard shed too so that's for gardening stuff and paint etc.

A craft hut or a gym. I’m very lucky to have a little craft room already, but I have a running machine in the playroom and the sight of the Lego mess stresses me out when running so a perfect little private gym (with chill out area!) would be lovely!

Right now hmm....an area for crafting, knitting, sewing, drawing appeals. But then I'd worry about damp in a shed...

I also love Lego so creating a huge Lego city like in the basement in the Lego movie would also be epic!

I would insulate it, put in hearing, WiFi, lighting and a fridge and a lock on the door and basically use it as a haven when I’m fed up of the noise and mess in the main house.

Ilovefredsiriex · 07/02/2021 17:08

I would do the same @Bvop, sounds perfect!

Depends where it's situated.
If near the garden I'd put patio doors on it and patio in front of it. I'd turn it into an outside kitchen bbq area. Nice seating inside with a wood burner in that could be used as an escape room as well as cosy inside outside area
