Storage costs with removals company

I've looked on a few local removal companies' websites to get ballpark figure for storage costs, in case we end up moving out to an Airbnb or similar in order not to lose our buyer.

None of them show any prices at all! I'm not at the stage of wanting to get removals people round to give quotes at this point, so I'm loathe to call them to enquire at the moment. I've used removal companies before and so have a decent idea of potential cost for a straightforward move, but I've never put anything into storage (in this case, pretty much the entire house contents) between moving out of old house and into new one.

Does anyone have a rough idea please? Contents of 4 bedroom house for say 2 weeks - would it be hundreds, or into the thousands of pounds? I really am clueless! Thank you!

Thanks to a conveyancing nightmare our stuff is currently in storage with the removal company and we are in air bnb.

Ten days plus bringing it to new house has added £700 to previous price of £1200 for standard pack n move.

Gah.

Eeek!
Good luck - I'm sure it will all work out as these things tend to do on the end

I used comparethestorage.com to get an idea. You need to provide an email address to get all the quotes, but I just set up a 10 minute one.

Are you sure that's not self storage?

It covers removal and storage services too (see link below and scroll down):

Many large self-store chain offer one month free, but not sure how long will you need to commit too - that's eady to find out.
Maybe cheaper and better facilities than with the removals.

LividLoving I'm curious, is Airbnb a bit cheaper now than normal, due to the lower denand? I hope so as I might need to do the same.

We paid around £700 a month last year for storage of our whole house contents (4 bed house). That included additional fire damage cover as wasn't included as standard.

Had to do it for 5 months, so that was fun!

Thank you everyone for the input - I definitely have more of an idea now!

Hey. Check this out: whatstorage.co.uk/manchester-self-storage/ We just recently moved to Manchester and they were a huge help. They provide sample quotations and easily connect us with our preferred removals and storage company. Convenient and they offer discounts too.

You'll need to speak to them to get an accurate price for moving or storage. Either that or complete an inventory on line
