Sale fallen through due to lockdown

16 weeks in and sale has fallen through as buyer declined mortgage - business owner which has had to close doors during lockdown.

Back on market but not much interest yet, 4 viewings - one stupid time wasting offer. Will most likely lose onward purchase now which was dream home.

2021 is not turning out to be what I hoped!

Sorry to hear this. I feel your pain. Our house sold for a great price. We finds our dream house a week later. Everything was going great until weeks before exchange we found out the house we were buying was full of restrictive covenants (basically can’t do anything to the house without asking for permission in writing) and is owned by the next door neighbour. We can’t find anything else to buy, we don’t live near family and we can’t afford to rent so we may lose our buyers too 😥

@clover1784 aww no that's awful. I really hope you find something soon. When will we get some luck aye!

After a rubbish 2020 I also thought 2021 was going to be my year of a bit of happiness. Constantly refreshing rightmove but there’s nothing 😢. I wish you all the luck x

We are going through the same. We had a buyer and our offer was accepted on a property that we really liked. After 3 months of paper work and when we were just a step away from exchanging the contract, our buyer pulled out in the first week of January. No reason was given and we lost on the property we were purchasing. We are gutted. 2021 has started on a bad note for us..

Aww so sorry to hear that Ditrive. Our buyers are given us until Friday to find something or they are pulling out. It’s a mix of emotions. This was our chance to move since the stamp duty has been scrapped. I’m starting to hate this year already.

@Ditrive oh I completely feel your pain. Everything was done we were just waiting on my buyers mortgage so we could exchange. I have a few viewings lined up over the next few days so I'm praying for a miracle!! Doesn't help I'm due to give birth at any minute, willing my baby to stay put for at least a week as I do the viewings myself 😫

@lydia771 I can imagine. Its a lot of hard work going through everything all over again. Hope all goes well with the viewings and you find a buyer soon. Also good luck with your delivery.

lydia771 · 25/01/2021 19:55

@Ditrive found a new buyer today which means we still get our original onward purchase. So so so happy but won't completely relax though until we get the keys!!
