We are currently dealing with APL for buying our first house and they are providing such a poor service and they never pick up any calls. Anyone has any experience with this conveyancing firm ?

Yes we have had a really good experience with them (very recently) but you do have to keep pushing if you want things to progress in your timeframe but I think that common with most solicitors/conveyancers
Have you got the direct contact number of the case handler - we found that helped

Yes we have direct contact number but our case handler never picks up the call. So we will have to chase him via customer service many times and complain about it and then we get the response. Can I ask how long it took for your sell/purchase to complete ? We are not in chain and the property we are buying is also not in chain so it shouldn't take very long.

We have sold two properties and bought one with them(all through COVID). Both properties we sold there were only us and the buyers in the chain
We accepted the offer, on the first one, middle of Jan 2020 and completed last week in March
The second one was a bit complicated due to buyer pulling out after 12 weeks(COVID related) but the second time we accepted the offer beg July and completed end of Sep
But we were very proactive with all concerned(EA APL TP Solicitors) and were quite happy to not be their favourite client and on the phone being quite insistent a lot

This helps a lot and we are definitely now going to chase them to get things moving. Thanks :)

When are you (realistically) aiming to move? Because unless it’s before Christmas, you’ll be way down their priority list right now.

we requested completion date in the beginning of january but looks like Its not gonna happen now :|

They were excellent in my two transactions, but maybe it depends on the person leading the transactions.
