Repairing chrome finish

The chrome finish on the drawer to our bathroom cabinet is flaking off. Is there any way we can repair it or spray it with a new finish?

Very frustrating because it isn't old and a bathroom cabinet should be able to withstand wet!!!

You can defintely get a silver spray paint, just make sure to mask everything off, it won’t look the same though.

How come it’s getting wet though?

SauvignonGrower · 10/12/2020 18:03

Thanks. I'll try a silver spray. I guess it just gets wet from being opened with wet hands! It isn't near the shower or bath so wouldn't be splashed by that.

Just get a really good one, some are really bad, or buy a silver metallic paint. The gilding waxes are also very good. You just basically rub it on.

bin and replace. Perhaps with stailess, or an anoldised aluminium extrusion.

I can't make out the pic.

Is the base metal grey?

Is the handle a strip?

It's a long strip along the top of the open drawer. I don't think I can replace it without doing the whole unit, which will cost a small fortune.

Vinyl wrap it, a sign company should be able to do it for you.
This place did some wrapping for me
www.vinylwise.co.uk
I have known them photograph a wood effect on a kitchen, print it out and wrap a blank door so it matches the rest of the kitchen
