Rowhill, Aldershot

Calling all Aldershot residents, we're thinking of moving to the Rowhill area of Aldershot due to its proximity to two very good schools, there's plenty of negative reviews of the town online, we visited the town centre recently, quite a few boarded up shops and premises but is this due to covid lockdown? We've seen worse town centres. What's your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hi OP, I looked at moving to Aldershot 13 years ago. It was run down and not a nice place to live, but there were lots of plans for regeneration. 13 years later, while there is a new shopping / restaurant complex, in my opinion the area is even worse. I'm glad I didn't move there. Pretty much every area around Aldershot is nicer than Aldershot itself so if you can afford it, I would look around eg Fleet, Farnborough, Church Crookham etc.
