Just browsing Rightmove and dreaming of moving to Cornwall and came across this little gem. Not sure I could live with all those statues, it’s reminding me of the Weeping Angels in Dr WhoShock

Tiny kitchen for an 8 bedroom house.

Okbutnotgreat · 07/11/2020 19:56

It seems to have 2 kitchens for some reason. Just a weird mess of rooms!

Other than the view nothing appeals to me.

wowfudge · 07/11/2020 20:10

Jesus - that's awful. Terrible kitchen, awful decor, 80s bathroom.

picklemewalnuts · 07/11/2020 20:16

It's two houses joined together, isn't it? The things I don't like, they'll take with them.

CharityPecksniff · 07/11/2020 20:24

The house doesn't appeal to me, sorry.

MoirasRoses · 07/11/2020 20:42

Decor is notttt for me 😬 nice view.

Bluntness100 · 07/11/2020 20:46

That’s a bit, well, odd

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve some weird shit in my home, I love an unusual antique, but it’s a very old listed building, so kinda works. That house is just odd, it’s just all so random.

Tadpolesandfroglets · 07/11/2020 20:46

Awful decor! Horrible house. I’d much rather have a little cottage by the sea.

Bluntness100 · 07/11/2020 21:22

It’s just so odd, so much random shit, even the different rugs in the living room, which I suspect are to cover up stains on the carpet, but they’ve an orange, brown, cream sheepskin one and then a grey normal one too. The bed with all the material draped over it and the clashing blinds and curtains, and then the outside statues inside.

It’s just a load of random stuff.

JuliaJohnston · 07/11/2020 21:25

What a load of old tat. The statue by the stairs looks like it's dying for a wee Confused

Iamthewombat · 07/11/2020 21:27

What’s with the pot full of GIANT HAIRBRUSHES in the bathroom?

Good spot, OP!

m0therofdragons · 07/11/2020 21:32

I posted a house that had bizarre pictures and was totally slammed for sharing someone’s house without their permission and putting it up for ridicule then mnet deleted the thread. Not sure why as the owners clearly have permission for the photos to be used on the internet. I find carpet in the bathroom strange but my mum has it as she likes to have soft footing in the bathroom and fears falling if she had tiles. Her house is immaculately tidy so it’s just different tastes. I love people with eccentric tastes - so much better than the matching show homes. I assume they’ll take the statues.

Jocasta2018 · 07/11/2020 22:58

The view is lovely, the house not my style but ok.
I would convert at least one bedroom into another bathroom. 8 beds & only 3 baths, 2 of which were en-suite, wouldn't work. 5 beds sharing 2 baths would be better!
And yes, it looks like 2 houses knocked into one!

MrsTumbletap · 07/11/2020 23:11

Erghhhh that is ugly.

Mutunus · 08/11/2020 01:41

Strange layout with the extra kitchen. Perhaps an annexe at one time?

picklemewalnuts · 08/11/2020 08:16

It looks like over many years they've collected individual pieces that they love, rather than choosing a piece that suits the room. Perhaps they've bought things when they've been travelling.

The screens across the windows are the thing I find harder to understand. I wonder if there is a different view they want to hide?

I'm sure the house set up worked for the family/families living in it.

MissKittyCat · 08/11/2020 08:37

The hot tub in the conservatory, which looking at the floor plan is open to the kitchen, therefore the hot tub is almost in the kitchen. It isn't mentioned in the description so I guess they are taking it with them.

PegasusReturns · 08/11/2020 08:50

That needs knocking down and rebuilding.

I have no idea about the area, but the view seems ok, aside from that the property has no redeeming features.

emilybrontescorsett · 08/11/2020 11:10

Well you don't buy the statues. That house is huge with a lovely outlook. I quite like it. Not in the market for buying a house though.

XiCi · 08/11/2020 11:13

God that is hideous.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 08/11/2020 11:24

The EA photos and presentation is the worst thing about it! A decent professional could make it look 100x more appealing. After the decidedly average exterior shot the first photo you see is of a random bedroom, not even the master. Wtf?

You could buy it and run one half as a holiday let I imagine. Wouldn't take all that much to turn it around.
