We’ve decided to do this given good offer from buyer but now I’m starting to worry that paying rent and off property ladder could it all go Pete tong! Whilst we’ve had offer accepted on a place it’s not chain free and anything could happen. Goodness knows how property market will pan out come March. Hoping stamp duty holiday is extended given backlog. Wondering how other fellow sellers who are renting managing

We are doing this as our original seller pulled out a week before exchange. So now we've sold our house and are living in a tiny and very expensive rental. We've had an offer accepted on another house but we're awaiting searches and responses to enquiries. Could take weeks or months. Very stressful!! We've found it really disruptive and depressing. But I'm sure at some point it will all have been worth it...

We’re going into temporary rented from Friday (great timing huh?!) as our buyers refused to wait the 4 weeks it would take to link the sale. They may have been bluffing, who knows, but given they offered asking price we weren’t willing to run the risk of losing them. We’re hoping to exchange later this month and be in by Christmas so keeping everything crossed it all goes to plan.

We are renting an apartment for a year. I need to decompress and then we will look at the market again in March. According to an estate agent alot of people are doing this.

We decided to break the chain as our house sold in July at the top of the market and we would have lost the sale if we made them wait until our new build was ready. We thought we could live with my in-laws but FIL has turned out to be horrific to live with so looking for a rental.
I hate it at the moment as my entire life is crammed into a Tiny bedroom and a storage locker. There’s also a chance that our new build now won’t be ready until after the stamp duty holiday. We don’t have the extra money for the stamp duty so that’s another stress. Oh and I’m pregnant.
Trying to think it will all be worth it in the end!

Our house sale fell through last minute but I got a (very) good price for ours and don't want to go through this again when the rest of the chain is 95% done/ready now, so we plan on airbnb temporarily until we find the dream house, hoping to airbnb for no longer than 6 months.

It will be worth it - and in a better position with no chain, at least that's what I'm telling myself!

We just got an offer on our flat and already decided that's what we will do. Want to do as much as I can to get the sale through.

Don't think there is any indication whatsoever that house prices will rise next year, so I don't feel worried about that.

We’re exchanging this week, completing 11 December and will be moving into a rental. We are relocating so it’s a big move and we currently have nowhere to go as the property we have offered on is complex so is taking a long time to go through the relevant processes for us to buy. Latest update is a £70k quote for a new roof 😬

Dreading going into a rental then having the upheaval of moving again, especially as it’s around Christmas and we have a baby in tow

We exchanged this week, completing beginning of December. As someone up thread said, we’re looking at six months renting as a chance to “decompress”, so we’ll start looking for our next home in the spring. At the moment there’s nothing on the market (where we are) other than quite a lot of dross that has been hanging about for months. In fact we’ve always sold, moved into rented, and then bought. It’s worked for us in terms of buying, and I think it’s less stressful then trying to get a chain to work.
