Why is this weird thing in my kitchen leaking?

DH and I recently bought a house with a very dated kitchen. There's an odd box on the wall wired to a vent of sorts and the box started leaking today. There's no water coming from the ceiling, just from the box itself.

Please help! What is this weird box for and why is it leaking? Where could the water possibly be coming from?

I've attached a picture - it's the box on the righthand side of the picture.

Is it a TV output?

If the roof aerial feeds directly to it, rain can get in the top end and drip through. We've had that, was a bit messy and we had to replace the whole cable and the weatherproofing cap on top which had blown away!

I agree, it’s a tv point and water is coming from inside. We ended up removing the whole lot, aerial included as it just wouldn’t stop dripping

Thanks @HerNameIsIncontinentiaButtocks and @AGreatUsername! That's super helpful. I think you're right as it has a TV-type connection. We'll get an aerial company over to see if we can remove the whole lot as we have a satellite dish elsewhere.

If in kitchen it could be pipe for waste water to.go to drain. Maybe piping is leaking. I would get a plumber to check it out.
