why ?

Oh Elf - what happened? It's soooooo stressful isn't it - HUGE amounts of sympathy from me (imagine the mood I was in when I saw the 'sold' sign going up on next door's board...).

ELF1981 · 15/10/2007 20:30

Dotty - my only consolation is that next door hasn't sold either!

Lizs - no reason given, just got a phone call from the estate agents to say that the buyers had withdrawn their offer.

It is a strange tiem for house selling at teh moment.

Can you rent it out and rent somewhere instead?

Carmenere · 15/10/2007 20:32

Sorry ELF

ELF1981 · 15/10/2007 20:32

Been on the market and I really want to sell.

I want to sell and buy somewhere new so I'm making headway at paying off a mortgage, rather that putting profit to somebody else.

Plus renting is slow around here too.

I'm so angry with the buyers - they were desperate to move in and they have not even given a reason why they are with drawing, at least then I would have something to go on!

We went through a horrific sale earlier in the year.. Much sympathy for you.

ELF1981 · 15/10/2007 20:52

Oh that's so miserable, sorry to hear this.

bodycolder · 16/10/2007 10:23

They may have been refused the mortgage as lenders are tightening up Make sure the agents check out the buyers finances for you next time and check they are in place.

mumblechum · 16/10/2007 10:27

Sorry Elf, it's so stressful, isn't it
(remember your thread of last week when it was looking a bit shaky)

RubyShivers · 16/10/2007 10:31

much sympathy from me as well
we were gazumped in July - a few days away from exchanging and our vendor sold to someone else
it can be a brutal business

ELF1981 · 16/10/2007 12:43

bodycolder - they had all finances in place - they had a house fall through the day before completion as the seller backed out. So their mortgage place had told them to go sort out a new property and it would be fast tracked. Our property was the same value as the other house (well, we accepted that offer anyway) so I am not sure if it was the mortgage which was a problem - which makes a change as that has been behind two of the other fall throughs!

mumblechum - we had sorted all our side out by Thurs and had spoken to the buyers (they were not aware of our issue) and they were happy on Thurs, but changed their mind over the weekend

And yes, it is brutal Ruby, I am sorry that happened to you, I'd be so !!
