How do we find dodgy roofers company address?

We had some roofing done in February 2020, work was guaranteed. Started leaking about a month ago, roofer reluctant to come back, eventually does after lots of prompting and then conveniently said none of the additional work is covered by the guarantee. Then he goes AWOL again. We got some other roofers round to quote and all 3 said it was a mess so we’re best starting again. It’s not even worth fixing. We want to take him to the small claims court but we don’t know the companies address. How do we find it out, it’s not on their website etc.

Did you not have an address on the invoice? VAT number?

Probably still trading but as self employed or cash in hand.

ask on your local spotted group but if it were travellers as someone else suggested then I'm guessing they'll just close ranks and you'll never find them.

Is there an address for the dormant company, and do you recognise the names of the directors? They could have set that company up but not registered any transactions through it..

Get a friend to have them round for a quote and get a written estimate. Hopefully it will have their address on it. If not, friend can ask for it.
