Returns to Victoria Plumbing

Has anyone had to return a large-ish item to Victoria Plumbing?

I'm struggling to find a courier at a reasonable price. Who did you use, and how was the experience of getting a refund?

Don't know about couriers, sorry. The ease or otherwise of getting a refund will depend on who the supplier is.

No advice I am afraid except for a virtual hug.

Victoria Plumbing are a nightmare re refunds etc.

They sell stuff quite cheaply but the discount does not make up for the complete hassle they are to deal with, unanswered phone calls, people who do not understand plumbing when you do get through.

We literally just had this issue! VP are a bugger with everything. Three wrong versions of one item sent, crap returns, slow response time. We used UPS for returning one thing which was reasonably priced thank god. The other thing is supposedly being collected by VP as it was faulty... we'll see.

Am having a total nightmare with them as well- they sent a faulty item and are totally unresponsive. Am just about to do a credit card charge back as have got nowhere.

Victoria Plum weren't too bad- item arrived smashed and no quibble refund (still have to get rid of a smashed toilet somehow though...).

We had to deal with them in the summer. I'd ordered a large shower tray from them which arrived undamaged despite being badly packaged (ripped cellophane and polystyrene supports that were completely crumbled) When our plumber said we had space for an even bigger shower enclosure we decided to send it back. I accepted that I'd have to pay to return it as it was our change of plan, we used Parcel Monkey and DX freight was the most competitive. I do remember spending a long time finding a courier who would accept a parcel of the dimensions and weight necessary and for less than £50. What annoyed me about VP was their insistence that I used the original packaging to send the shower tray back. I told them that if I used the original packing, I'm sure they wouldn't accept it and the tray would most likely be damaged. I explained that the original packing was binned and had been really poor. They wanted to know if I had pictures of it. I didn't as at the time of unpacking we didn't know we'd be later returning it!! Because I wouldn't be using the original packing they insisted on knocking 10% off the value of my returned item. This was really frustrating because I then spent a lot of time and effort using decent packaging materials to return the item to ensure it was received back to them in a resaleable condition. I did later receive my refund from them, less the 10%, but have vowed to never use them again and buy locally in case I need to return things. The courier cost was not the issue, the packaging situation was!!!

If it's a faulty item then you don't have to pay, but you do have to cause an almighty uproar as they are abysmal. I recommend using Which's complaint/refund template... or was it money supermarket??? I can't recall but it got me the desired result instantly.
