Can I sell my house privately

Hi, my house has been for sale for around 3 months with an estate agent, had around 10 viewings in this time but no offers. A friend of a friend contacted me privately and requested a viewing and now wants to put an offer in, so my question is can I do it privately? Or should I ask them to go through the estate agent?

You can of course get your friend of a friend round to view. What you need to check is your contract with your estate agent re fees as even if they have not introduced the person you may still be liable for their fees if the sale happens whilst you are in your agreement period with them - So others will say better but check how long you signed up for ( with EA) - do you have a notice period etc. As far as I know if you are in an agreement with an EA then they can still claim the fee even if a buyer you have found yourself so - I would look carefully at your contract with EA if you hope is you will avoid their fees =- sorry bit long but hope you get my point - others more recently through the process may give you better / other advice - Good luck either which way @Penny67

Yeah I'd check with the contract you have with the EA. Have they locked you in with them for a certain amount of time?
