Our conservatory has the age old problem of being too cold in the winter. As we now have a DC and possible permanent WFH situation, we could do with the extra room year around.
Our options are:
- Change the roof from polycarbonate to tiled, get underfloor heating and thermal blinds.
- Try to convert it into an extension. (Foundation allowing)
- Knock it down and build an extension from scratch. (If foundation isn’t correct.)
We won’t be changing anything about the size so no extra benefit to option 3.
We don’t have a huge budget so I’d prefer to find ways to insulate what we’ve already got but I’m worried that could be a false economy. I’d love to hear from people who’ve done this and learn from your experience.
