House/burglar alarm

DH looking at having installed. One of the options is cameras in the house that only activate if the alarm goes off.... so alarm company can look and see if someone is in the house.
I don’t feel comfortable With having cameras in my house linked to an external company where anyone could be looking at them!
Does anyone else have this type of system and are you OK with it? DH says I’m being paranoid.

I wouldn't be comfortable with this at all. I would go down the DIY route - wireless sensors linked to your phones indoors and outdoor spotlights/cameras that activate on motion.
If you really want to go profession, I'd go with a simple sensor driven approach and a call out system.

Yes I’m happy with the sensors, not cameras though!

We have this with Verisure. They have shutters over the cameras & we keep them closed for the most part (we can still switch on all modes of the alarm). If we are out of the house for few hours then we 'open' the shutter for the camera facing the main door. If we are out on holiday then we open shutters to all cameras. I am very paranoid about cameras/privacy & only chose this because of the shutter option. It can work.
