Approximate cost for sanding/revarnishing pine floorboards?

Hi all,
I'm wanting to get pine floorboards in 2 smallish reception rooms sanded and revarnished. They were last done when we bought the house 20 plus years ago so really need redoing!! I have a local guy coming round to give me a quote at the weekend but realised I have no idea of how much is reasonable for say 1.5 days work. Anyone have any recent experience of how much a similar job cost?

I’ve only ever been quoted by sq mtr, not by day. It was very expensive, so we hired a machine and done it ourselves. We definitely didn’t do an amazing job, but it was fine for us.

I did my own. I already had a small sander, but the tin of varnish cost about £50.

You can hire a sander and do it yourself. I priced it up at about £100 all in, plus the varnish.

If you get someone to do it the job will be good. I am pleased with my results but it could have been better. It all depends on how fussy you are I expect
