Breaking the chain, credit rating / getting mortage

I was just wondering if anyone who “broke the chain” was affected by their credit score being damaged due to change of address & electoral roll changes?

Sorry if that’s garbled. Feeling quite stressed Smile

(For those who broke the chain by renting for 3-6 months)

We recently did this. Broke the chain at the end of June and went into rented. Within a few weeks we were lucky and found the perfect property which we offered on and was accepted. Mortgage offer was submitted within 4-6 weeks of breaking the chain. No issues at all even though we weren’t on the electoral roll yet. I even asked the mortgage advisor who said as long as you’ve been on it in your previous address there’s no issues.

No prob! My actual credit score has gone down since moving but don’t panic. Your score is only seen by you. Lenders look at your actual credit profile and the information within it and base the decision on that. They don’t even have access to the score.
