Deed of grant

Our buyers solicitor has asked for a copy of the deed of grant dated 1986 that we should have been given a copy of when we bought our house.

I have no idea what this is. Our house was a new build. The estate was built between 2000 - 2004. We bought our house in 2001.

Why is this your problem and not your conveyancers?

If there isn't a copy at the Land Registry, your conveyancer should just say and see what the response is.
