Hello everyone,
Would love your advice/input if you know these places well, which one you prefer and why, the pros and cons We have visited, it seems East Grinstead has more shops etc in the town and Hayward Heath has a few restaurants. Thank you

Grew up in Lingfield with friends in East Grinstead. They are so close I would look at that area (and dormansland/felcourt etc) in the round because you’ll still end up zipping around in the car anyway, and it’s the same train line. Unless secondary schools are a decision point because they were in different catchments when I was young.
I can’t say much about Hayward’s heath itself as we never went there. I know it has good transport links and it’s proximity to Brighton is a plus for some.

They are very different places tbh. Haywards Heath is a large town, and very commuter centric.
We lived in East Grinstead and loved it. The train was slower than from Haywards, but it was end of the line, so you got a seat.
Lingfields a village really, but it's close enough to EG that its where we went to pick up a curry (we lived on the northern edge) and ds went to nursery there

@CMOTDibbler thank you, what did you like about living in East Grinstead? Is there more to do there than Haywards Heath. Is Haywards Heath not nice ?

TBH, the only times I went to Haywards Heath was to go to the hospital and have DS so I couldn't really comment. We liked EG for having enough to do, while being totally walkable, and still a bit of a small town, friendly feel. When we lived there I was working in Crawley, and dh commuted into the city so it worked logistically and we only moved as we had to relocate for work to the midlands
