Looking to relocate to either Lewes, or the nearby Hassocks area (Ditchling or Hurstpierpoint). We have primary age children.
We think the pros to Lewes are:
- Amenities, shops & entertainment
- It’s cool & very pretty
- Loads to do with kids - bike park etc
- Accessible
- Walk to schools & friends
But pros to Hassocks:
- better schools? (Primary & seconday)
- more space for £1m budget
- quieter, yet within a drive of Lewes, and on the trainline to Brighton
- good for sports? (Eg footie)
- probably still walk to the local schools/friends as not too remote?
We are looking at state schools, budget around £1m and don’t know the areas so difficult to know what’s best for us!
If anyone knows these regions or has lived in both places I’d like to know where best for a young family for the next 10-15yrs
