Ridiculous London properties

Christ alive. I live in London but sometimes this damn city makes me question everything and everyone. It genuinely saddens me that some poor soul was living with a bed, next to an electric hob, next to a shower cubicle.

I present to you: London property rip-off of the week!

Anyone else seen any other property "gems" recently that they would like to share?

I can see it being rented out on Airbnb or similar as a place to 'recover' after clubbing..pre covid times obviously. If you don't live in London, it would be hard to get home esp if you are drunk. And you don't really need a hotel room for that.

I have seen smaller sell on auction sites simply because of the postcode prestige.

Smallgoon · 21/07/2020 20:28

This isn't exclusively a London issue. I'm sure Paris/NYC have their fair share of extortionate box room apartments. Post code lottery and all that.

jeff1965 · 21/07/2020 20:33

@Mistymonday that started at 350k in March 19 and has been reduced multiple tones since. I wonder why Hmm

Alsohuman · 22/07/2020 12:19

It’s for someone who wants to sleep in it Monday to Thursday and return to their real home at weekends, isn’t it?

serenada · 22/07/2020 12:49

@Alsohuman

Yes - perhaps even less. Someone who visits London once a week and wants the address

SerenityNowwwww · 22/07/2020 13:26

@QuantamBaby

Or you could buy this for a bargain £210k and just live in your car....

Hah -that's close to me, its the back of a mews - there are embassy buildings around there and a royal residence - I forget which royal family - and you'd be close to Tony Blairs London home. Its also very close to grotty old Edgware Road. An annual parking ticket would only cost about £130.
VeganVeal · 22/07/2020 14:27

Needs full renovation, week that the weekend sorted then

Mistymonday · 22/07/2020 16:00

@jeff1965 It is hard to believe the starting price for a parking space but this is London Hmm

DistinguishedCarrot · 22/07/2020 16:06

Nearly half a million for a studio, but the views are amazing!

serenada · 22/07/2020 17:01

@DistinguishedCarroT

Isle of Dogs Grin Blimey.

Alsohuman · 22/07/2020 17:19

I could live in that. Those views! And you’d barely have to get out of bed to make a cup of tea.

Londonmummy66 · 22/07/2020 18:06

Just over a million for a studio with a view of Vauxhall Station - but it has a slide in the lobby...

Those aren’t real photos though - god knows what the final thing will look like (and of Versace has a hand in it ... gold tiger heads and wild prints I imagine...).

MotherMorph · 22/07/2020 23:17

Love the way the original one says "needs modernising throughout " throughout what??? Its only 1 small room?
I've seen clever uses of space and tiny studios that are really well designed (although I still wouldnt want to live in one) but this is just the height of greed and laziness - stick a bed and a sink in a room and call it a studio.
