If you live in a flat- where do you do your big DIY projects?

Morning everyone
I'll be moving into my flat soon and as you can imagine space will be a major issue. The place needs a lot of work and I'm hoping to revamp it; paint the kitchen cabinets, upcycle furniture and I need the space and ventilation to do it. I've not lived in a flat before and had always relied on my garden to do that.
I'd love t hear suggestions of how to do big DIY if you live in a small flat.

Kitchen doors I've only done in situ. The hinges very usefully keep them suspended without touching anything. For other stuff I would lay in our in the centre of the living area, and if necessary use the bedroom as your place to relax in the evenings while it's ongoing. Clean up well every day.
