Would you move at the moment

Just that! I want to move to be closer to friends and family and a house has come up that I like, but in the south east. I live in an area with very little virus and wonder if now is the time to move? Am i being silly? I'm also aware that my DS is about to start year 12 so is move now or wait another 2 years!

Yes, we are trying to move - however our house has been on the market for 10 days and no viewings yet so I feel that others feel differently

sbplanet · 27/06/2020 12:09

Yes. Why not?

Noidea2114 · 27/06/2020 12:20

We put Mils house on the market on Tuesday and we have had 10 viewers and 5 offers of the full asking price.

Chocolatebrownielove · 27/06/2020 13:46

Put my house on the market on Monday, 40 viewers lined up but accepted an offer 15% over value on Thursday. It's not all doom and gloom suggested in the media.

Oly4 · 27/06/2020 13:48

Yes of course

ladykuga · 27/06/2020 13:49

I'm in the middle of a move and it's gone at breakneck speed so far. Mortgage was approved in 24 hours as well. Good luck.

notheragain4 · 27/06/2020 13:53

Yes. We've been on the market since January and got an offer the day after viewings were allowed in May. Fingers crossed it's working out so far, some issues with our buyer's mortgage but hopefully passed that now. We need a bigger house, not ones for hanging around and seeing what happens just in case, cracking on.

DaphneduM · 27/06/2020 16:13

Yes, definitely. We moved last year when there was Brexit uncertainty. Sold really quickly. Ironically it seems that the market is absolutely manic at the moment - there certainly doesn't seem to be a problem with selling if priced sensibly. Life is short, you have to do what you have to do to move on.

googledontknow · 27/06/2020 16:34

Houses are selling quickly where I am, I think people want to move while they can in case we have a winter lockdown.

I'm trying to get my house extended and it's proving difficult to get builders because they are so in demand.

Hopefully Brexit isn't going to make that so mush worse, but I imagine with Boris at the helm, it will be.

LunaHardy · 27/06/2020 16:38

Yep - I did. All went smoothly.

CoolShoeshine · 28/06/2020 09:27

I wouldn’t let the virus put you off moving now but how does your ds feel who is about to start year 12? Could be disastrous for him!

londongirl12 · 28/06/2020 09:32

Yes move it fours where you want to be. There's no reason not to

PeppermintPasty · 28/06/2020 09:34

I’m a conveyancing solicitor in the south west, it is bonkers busy atm where I am. I’m back off furlough now and opening loads of new purchase files. I think it will be like this for some time.
