Change of planning permission query

Hoping someone knowledgable will be able to help. A site I am interested in has full PP for two properties. Is it likely to be a problem to amend this to only one property?

Depends in which way it was awarded - if it's affordable housing for two family's and you want one 'unaffordable' home it might not pass a change
