We are changing to gas and have almost a full tank of oil. Do we get someone to remove it and oil?

If you want to, yes.
Local farmer might be interested, always worth a shot.

Offer it on facebook some one will pay for the oil, scrap man might take the tank or just offer it for free once it's empty, how much is in it?
Its about 50p a litre to bu so ask half price.

cough...heating oil is now about 20p a litre!! I wouldn't even change if I were you!

Perfidy · 05/05/2020 17:47

I know it’s so cheap now I’m wonder if we are doing the right thing switching!

Its still 50p near me but was 80+. Best do your sums based on local supplies

The empty oil tank needs to be disposed of by a contracting specialised with contaminated tanks (that doesn't read back quite correct but you get what I mean - it can't just end up in the regular waste stream)

Used to work for an oil tank company. Tank needs to be made safe before being cut up. Lpg is more expensive generally.
