Hot water tap in kitchen not getting hot enough

We have recently moved house, we have solar water heating. All the taps in the house get really hot. Except the kitchen.

Any suggestions as to how to solve this.

Not my area of expertise but my first thought would be limescale?

lovelyupnorth · 27/04/2020 19:44

We live in a very soft water are no limescale at all.

Is it a single mixed tap or two hot and cold taps ?

Muchlywrong · 27/04/2020 19:48

What type of tap is it? A thermostatic mixer tap? Or just a mixer tap? Do you know when the tap was installed? A photo would be useful

lovelyupnorth · 27/04/2020 20:40

Just a mixer tap. Quite old

All the others are separate hot and cold taps

It may well be a case of the thermostatic cartridge is failing to mix properly due to age. Does it have one lever/handle. Like this www.screwfix.com/p/single-lever-mono-mixer-kitchen-tap-black/6480t . If so, then the cartridge is likely to need replacement. If you know the make of the tap, you should be able to order a replacement

Check the flexi tails under the sink also. If one is twisted that will limit the flow of water. Normally they are colour coded.

Equally re the flexi hoses, check that the screw valve on the side of the hot one is open enough.

Two taps on the base. The make is printed on it

Will have a look under neath

Thanks
