We have been ‘nearing exchange’ for what feels like an eternity and have been going backwards and forwards trying to agree a completion date for the last few days.

We can do anytime, we will take days off work and find childcare as necessary to get this done. Buyers (who aren’t even moving in straight away) refused the first suggested dates. Vendors say if our buyers won’t agree to their first suggestion we all have to wait until the end of April as they’re off on holiday and can’t be doing with the faff before then.

Would IBU to go and look at another chain free cheaper property that I quite like the look of if the parties on each side can’t come to an agreement?

YANBU as long as you're prepared to pay additional fees Smile

If you agree end of April then you can get your ducks in a row and start packing and so on. 6 weeks isn't really that long!

Even if you find a chain free property you will never be in by the end of April so I'd just accept the faff and get a date agreed even if you have to wait 6 weeks.
