Grieving for a house that I've already lost

Went to view a forever home. I knew I'd fall in love with it and I Did, I can imagine living in it. Currently the family there are similar to ours and are very happy there. I just love the house the style it's so me. But it's 0n for 250k I have about 30k for a deposit. But I don't think that's enough to secure the house. I don't think our income is enough. Im really gutted, genuinely feel really sad and a little sick.

Any words of comfort would be greatly appreciated

You need to find out what you can afford, if you’re close put in an offer as you have nothing to lose.

Moneysaving expert will give you an idea of mortgages. I used that at a guide then went with L&C brokers who found me an even better deal same day.

Why are you looking at properties without knowing what your finances are? That would be a large mortgage to take on.

Your deposit is fine. What is your income?

squee123 · 28/02/2020 18:42

are you sure you don't earn enough? have you spoken to a broker? You've got enough for a 10% deposit and moving costs and a lot of houses are going under asking.

You have 10% deposit which is good. Find out what you can borrow by speaking to a broker or even get an idea from an o line calculator. Everyone’s circumstances are different obviously, but for example OH and I were offered approx 4.25 times our joint income with a 10% deposit and little other debt (about £1000 total between cc and next account).

Why did you view a property without knowing if you could afford it?
