Looking to Move to Surrey (Epsom, Chessington etc.)

Hi all 😊
So me and my partner are looking for our first home together, but not certain where!
Ideally wanting somewhere that is near a station, a 2 bed house, and no more than 50 minutes to Waterloo as we both commute to there. We've got a budget of about £350k.
We've looked at Epsom which looks nice and has a good feel, but don't know which areas are good or not. And Chessington seems okay but not sure if it's as nice.
Anyone got any recommendations? 😊

I’m afraid you won’t get much for your budget in Epsom.

both areas are really good, priority wise epsom is better than chessignton.

Chessington does have some run down parts and no real high street. Epsom has a decent town centre and nicer countryside surrounding it, although you aren’t far from lovely green areas there either. Have you got any specific houses or areas in mind?

I should say also that Chessington is definitely filling up with young professionals ready to start a family, having been priced out of nearby Surbiton and Claygate. So it’s definitely up and coming.

Where are you at the moment

Thanks everyone!
@WhenYouveAFirstInEnglish - We don't have a particular house or area set in mind honestly. Are there any areas you'd recommend to avoid or aim for?
@BigSandyBalls2015 - We're split between Farnham and Tunbridge Wells at the moment. We both work in London so want a shorter commute, but don't want to abandon being a little bit in the country Smile

I’ve had a quick look on RM and can’t see any decent houses for your budget.... would you think about a flat in Surbiton instead?

Have you considered Dorking? Lovely countryside, a nice High Street. You would get something nice in your budget.

The properties in Farnham are a long way from the station.

It’s really ideal in the SE to be able to walk to the station for your commute. It’s nigh on impossible to park at stations, and all the surrounding roads have parking restrictions to stop commuter parking.

In Epsom, the college area is probably the most desirable but as far as I’m aware, there’s nowhere that’s actually bad.

Have a look at Ewell too (right next door with the benefit of zone 6 and cheaper commute).

You might also be able to get sth in Sutton or Carshalton - zone 5 but coutryside within walking distance from the south side (farms, lavender fields, woods etc).

Dorking has a stunning setting and is surrounded by gorgeous coutryside but it’ll be a bit pricier for commuting.
