Open plan ground floor with side and back kitchen extension 2m x 3m to back

We have a 1930s semi in N14 and are planning to do a kitchen extension - out to side by about 2.5m and out to back by 3m. Understand this is within PD so won't need planning permission.

Like the idea of open plan living, so would like to combine the 2 receptions into one, leading into the kitchen (to side and back). Not confident about project managing this myself, so looking for a builder/company experienced in doing this. I have had a couple of bad experiences with builders even though I got them from those "so called reputable sites".

We are in our late 60's and it's a case of now or never with this extension. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

We did a whole ground floor reconfigure ( so not an extension per se ) and worked with a designer who cane up with lots of stuff we hadn't thought about . She designed the kitchen and laundry etc too, so we could use the plans to shop around.

We found her on Houzz. And also found loads of inspiration on there too . ( designer was karen from OnePlan )
Our builders were recommended by people in the village and actually were quite good too. Builders wife was unofficially the project manager as she really did organise everything.
Had a good chap from the local councillors sign off the building regs bits. He was so confident in the builder he only had a cursory glance about . So good builders are a must .

Thank you so much. Good place to start. Will look her up.

Exactly the kind of help I'm looking for.

Thank you

Hi op,

Worth checking about permitted development in your specific area. We've recently extended 6 m from the back wall. We wanted originally to go out to the side but in our area PD only applies to back wall not side extension so we would've need PP.
