Location, Location - I need a Kirsty and Phil!

Hello,

My family is currently living in Switzerland, but we're moving back to the UK next year. Possibly to Hampshire but it's not an area that we know. We've drawn a rough triangle on a map of the area we'd like to look in. What we need is an agency who can search for appropriate houses and pick out a selection for us to view. If they can take availability of schools etc into consideration that would be a bonus. Does such a service exist?

I think Kirsty and Phil have a homefinder business.

yes they do

but whey don't you just do it on the property websites? you get floorplans and loads of pictures and can drawu p your own shortlist

I think 'homefinder' is the generic name for the service you are looking for. Or poss relocation agent ?

I think there is a company called PropertySearch or something similar - expensive though as far as I know.

Or try looking up relocation agencies.

My friend used a property search company when they moved back from CH to Surrey a few years back. Cost a few hundred but saved a lot of groundwork. I can try to find out the name if you like ?

Thanks, now I now the right term to search for I'm starting to find what I'm looking for. Fees are a bit on the expensive side... so any recommendations anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Hi LIZS, I'd appreciate the name of the company your friend used if you're able to find out. Thanks

I live in Hampshire - its pretty big though, Do you need to commute anywhere, or be close to the sea...?

My husband needs to commute to High Wycombe and we were thinking about the Fleet area.

I can recommend Petersfield, nice area with very good state schools.

Schools have a good reputation in Fleet. There is a big new housing estate called Elvetham Heath. If you have got money to spend then Hartley Witney is a lovely village just over the motorway from Fleet - nice older houses but can be pricey. Hook is ok - getting bigger. We live over the border in Surrey.

I'm sure that company I linked to covers that area too.

There is one in Winchester called Rosemary Gould I think

Thanks for the recommendations on areas. (I was going to start another thread). It's a big help! Especially to know what the schools are like.
