second viewing on property, how often do you do this and not make an offer?

We had 2 viewings on Thursday this week. One from a family who had viewed the previous week and come back for a second viewing bringing their children with them. We took this as a positive sign, one that they came back and two that they brought their DC's. We have only ever had a second viewing when we have been ready to make an offer but realise this might not be the same for others.

We had feedback from the agent that it went positive again and that they said they were going to go away and think about it. We haven't heard since. Although it was only Thursday so not sure if they could still come back with an offer.

So, just wondering. Is it common to go for a second viewing and not make an offer? And how quickly if you do make an offer do you leave it before making it?

I know there is no guarantee either way, I am just desperate to move!

they might have two houses on their wish list and came back for a second viewing to solidify which house they want it sounds like yours is probably got more things on their no list when we found the house we liked we made an offer the same day

Thank you issey, that's what I'm thinking. When we have bought in the past we have also made an offer the same day after we have viewed for a second time

We went for a second viewing on a house we didn’t offer on.

We've only ever done a second viewing on one property. We made an offer and then withdrew it the next day before the seller even had a chance to come back to us (still feel bad about that!) The house we're in now- we knew as soon as we stepped in for the first time that this was the house for us so didn't need a second viewing. The house we saw twice, we asked for the second viewing as although we liked what we saw the first time we had some niggles in our mind afterwards so wanted to be able to rule them in or out. It's still on the market now and I do think about it but know we made the right choice for us.

But I suppose ultimately who knows why your people wanted the second viewing! Hope you hear back from them soon. :)

we had two contenders last year when we were looking the better one we asked for a second look round as we just wanted to take a better look than the half hour you spend on a first viewing we had already made a cheeky offer which had been rejected so wanted to see if it was worth putting in a better offer, in the end the vendor messed us around and we didn't proceed, but the house we did buy we came here looked round and made an offer, took paperwork to office and it was off the market two hours later as it was no chain being empty

I’ve asked for second viewings when I have two properties to decide between

I went for a second viewing but didn’t offer until a week later.

Thanks everyone

Seems it's quite common to not make an offer after a second viewing.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope if they are not interested that a buyer turns up soon Smile
