Property market in Hemel Hempstead

Looking to move to Hemel Hempstead temporarily to be close to DC’s school but wondering:

  • is it a good time to buy now in general?
  • if we need to move in a couple of years’ time and want to rent the property out, would it make a good investment?
  • where can £250-300K get us a 2-bed apartment that can be rented out easily?

TIA! x

You could get a two bed apartment within that price range.
In terms of renting it out in the future, it might be worth looking within half a mile of the train station as it is a direct train to Euston.
Hemel Hempstead is a fairly large town though so that location might not suit you - depending on where your DC school is. At the top of your budget, I’d also consider Berkhamsted.

Thanks for the info! Actually near the station will work well location wise. I heard that the Boxmoor side is the nicer part?
I haven’t looked at Berkhamsted as believe it’d be much more expensive than Hemel. Wondering from an investment point of view if the same amount will get higher return in longer term - don’t even know where to start for a proper research! Confused
