Bradfield Southend for new mum

Hi all,

I have an 11 month old boy and have seen a house in Bradfield Southend that we like. Does anyone know what it's like to live there as a mum? My husband works near Pangbourne so don't want to be too far from there but the dog walks to country pubs seem nicer in Bradfield Southend plus there aren't any houses we like in Pangbourne. Any advice?
Thanks

No advice sorry as I'm the other side of the A4 in Burghfield although my inlaws are near Bradfield. I know nearby Beenham preschool is well thought of. Have you tried joining the local facebook page and having a nosey?

You will be about 10 mins from Pangbourne. It is a nice village with several amenities.
Big supermarkets would be Newbury or Calcot. The Main Street is a rat run back from West Reading to the rest of west berks and if the A4 is closed it can get very congested.
One thing it is really, really worth knowing about Bradfield Southend is it's Christmas illuminations - this is a massive thing nearly every house on the main drag through the village participates, there are designated car parks and it raised money for charity. From 1st Weekend in December to the new year every evening from dark to 10pm the village is full of visitors walking and driving through looking at the lights. Something you would either love to be part of or hate.
