Which light is in my bathroom?

Our bathroom light has gone. It's terribly confusing what one I need to buy. The light fitting says '16w tc-dd' on the outside and the actual light on the inside says '16w 827' and it seems to be by watt miser.

Does this make sense and is it possible to deduce which light I need to buy? Thank you.

What does the bulb and fitting look like

If the lamp is a 2D type looking like this, I'd seriously consider replacing the luminaire.

There is probably an electronic circuit insode the lantern, and it will wear out in time. The old type lamps to fit it will be increasingly difficult to find. They were an early attempt to make an energy saving lamp, but you can now LED bulbs in any high Street which are cheaper, last longer, and are more efficient. I'd go for a light that will fit an ordinary BC22 (bayonet) or ES (screw) bulb.

A new bathroom light need not be expensive. Enclosed ones are better as they reduce the risk of water being splashed or squirted at them, e.g. from the shower.

Some of them have an "integrated" LED or driver, meaning "not replaceable" so you throw them away when they burn out.

Look for one that has a BC or ES bulb that you can buy anywhere.

A large pearl diffuser gives reduced glare and softer shadows.

The bulb/lamp is the 2d type as John suggested. Trouble is this is a rental place and my landlady doesn't know what type of bulb it would be. Thought I'd try myself before she has someone sent out to replace a lightbulb!

Just looked again and it is a 2 pin.
