Do you think I have a hope in hell's chance of getting my bathroom replaced and tiled for under 2k and if so can you reccomend a plumber in the Sutton area??

I think it could easily be done..,

Would have to be a cheap white suite from DIY land, but they seem fine,

And also cheap tiles, but again I think look ok (I actually like plain white tiles).

Just tile on the area that really needs it and then paint the remaining walls.

Ah just reliased that I have no idea how much a plumber would charge though... (my brother did ours)...

I think the problem is that if you get the bits and pieces done seperately it can be done reasonably but if you get a 'specialist' in it costs a fortune I just don't know where to start!

I would think so, unless you were planning to move the plumbing.

If you are just replacing the suite then it's not complicated, and so cheaper. Fully tiling it will cost more, so maybe just tile the essential bits.

Try Screwfix for plumbing, suites etc.

We aren't in Sutton, but a plumber in our local paper charges £375 to take an old bathroom out & put a new one in.I'm not sure what tilers cost these days though-I tiled our last kitchen & it wasn't hard, just time consuming.

DH does our own tiling. An electric tile cutter cost us about £45

My neighbour has a friend who's daughter has recently qualified as a plumber so we will ask her for a price

yes is possible

I have just had my sperate bathroom and toilet bashed down into 1 room

brand new bathroom suite, wall plastered up...
all walls skimmed etc, new bit of wall where old door was plastered, radiator plumbing moved and new radiator installed

All paint / tiles / floor/ whole entire bathroom suite / new door and handle / new spot lights fitted into the ceiling / whole for extractor fan put in , then fitted etc / mirror / cabinate / towel rail ETC

Basically a whole entire new bathroom from bashing 2 rooms together

the whole entire lot for just under £2k. My best friends hubby did all the work himself (took him 2 weeks / 10 working days)... and he gave me mates rates! )
