We are looking to relocate to Petts Wood early next year and would love opinions please. We are looking at the Crescent Drive, Nightingale Road area. Has anyone got any strong opinions on this area? Tia!

There is a poster who lives in Petts Wood and is very knowledgeable - search out @PettsWoodParadise.

Hello, thanks for the shout out @lightsabre.

Yes, I am biased, I think Petts Wood is great. Both of those roads are very convenient to the station. Some roads further towards Bickley/Bromley are on the edge of the Coppice estate and suffer from low level anti-social behaviour (e.g. top part of Faringdon Avenue), but not Nightingale or Crescent drive.

Those roads are not very wide so they can be a pain to drive down. Lakeswood is a bit of cut through for people heading to Bromley to avoid the traffic lights opposite Morrisons so can get very busy.

You are close to the shops (don't forget the lovely selection on 'the other side' too), restaurants and station. Convenient for Crofton School too. If primary schools are a consideration for you, depending on where you are do check distance. Crofton went out quite a short distance last year and some roads missed out . If hoping for St James' the catholic requirement is very strict and as they only take a small number of pupils competition is fierce.

Feel free to pm me a more precise location once you've narrowed it down and I will give my honest opinion based on living in the area over 40 years. I have relatives on the West side and I live on the East side. We have a friendly rivalry going on between the sides. The latest Christmas carnival was a lovely example of the community feel of the area.

I'm in Petts Wood too. I live a couple of minutes walk from Crescent Drive and actually almost bought a house on that road - it's really nice but can be a bit of pain to drive down due to lots of parked cars.

There's very little antisocial behaviour in Petts Wood, even on the outskirts. It's a very safe area.
