Is it too cold to paint my front door?

I sanded and undercoated my wooden front door in October thinking I'd get it sorted before the cold weather however with all the rain it didn't happen.
Now it looks like we might finally get a bit of a dry spell but will the paint dry?! Obviously not today as it's around freezing here but if the temp was say between 7-10 degrees?
The paint is exterior gloss if that helps

It will say on the tin the specific temperature range. If it doesn't it will be on the technical datasheets on manufacturer websites.

The temperature needs to stay above the minimum temperature throughout the drying/curing time. So if it's solvent based and needs 16-24 hours at 20 degrees, and you take into account that drying/curing times are extended at lower temperatures...

Off the top of my head the lowest min temperature any paint I've used had was 8. Sadolin is 8...

If be surprised if the temperature stayed consistently above 8 degrees overnight anytime soon.

Painter and decorator DH says no too cold. Paint will go flat and have no shine

As I thought Sad
Thanks for the advice. Looks like I'm stuck with a scruffy looking door until things warm up then!

Does your front door lead straight into the house? Or do you have another secure door behind it? If so you could try taking it off it's hinges, take it inside to paint and dry then rehang. Or one of those spray paint firms might be quicker?
