Selling a house (and buying another)

We've lived in this house over 30 years and are now ready to move on. I know an awful lot has changed since we last did this. I'm assuming an estate agent can advice on all the new forms and packs we will need and where to get them, but what if we sell through someone like purple bricks? We're just giving it a lick of paint and tidying things up atm but hope to start properly next year.
Any advice please?

get a good solicitor ask around as personal recommendations are more reliable than online reviews, use a good estate agents local to you who know the local market , look at all sorts of houses in your price bracket as a few viewings will give you a good idea of what you can and cant compromise on, get a survey on your purcashes well worth the money,

Don't use PB

Can I ask why not PB?

We have just sold stc with pb. We've been very happy with them, although I was nervous beforehand.

I honestly think that if a house is priced right it will sell. We had plenty of viewings, a couple of cheeky low offers and then 2 offers we were happy to accept.

What I did was have a stalk of other houses for sale in the area on the market with pb and just made sure the photos etc all looked good.

It did take 7 weeks to get an offer we were happy with but our house was always going to take a while. The only other thing a conventional estate agent would have done is maybe have a list of people to contact who were looking for houses like ours, but we got lots of viewings so just can't imagine them getting a better result. We saved a fortune as well!!

Pay for an estate agent that knows the local area and market well. Make sure the photos are done properly.
I’d imagine PB would vary from region to region but they have a poor reputation where I live.
