Help - IKEA or Howdens Kitchen?

We've had two quotes from each, both match but in different ways: Ikea cheaper kitchen but more expensive appliances (which we may be able to find cheaper elsewhere) and Howdens more expensive kitchen but appliances cheaper.

We know Howdens is easier to fit and is better quality long term but whilst their design was okay, Ikea was able to do a design that suits us just that bit better. Plus, their inserts, pull outs etc are fab and give us flexibility to change.

Would be interested to hear pros and cons for both. Please help us choose!

We have just had the same dilemma,

I love Ikea kitchens as they do not have the service area at the back of the cupboards. They are also deeper. This means for every 6 cupboards from Howden you'd only need 5 from ikea to give you the same storage capacity.

My husband dislikes ikea kitchen units as the do not have the service gap at the back and it can be a pain to run pipes.

I find the storage solutions with Ikea so good, well thought out and they work. But I like the finish of the Howden kitchen. I'm not a big fan of the Ikea look.

Storage won, we got Ikea.

Well, we were sooo sure we were going with Ikea. Made our decision (the storage solutions were just fab), told our builder, who then informed Howdens and just like that, they matched our quote!

There was a lot of negotiation that followed but we've now opted for Howdens.

So hope we've made the right decision!

Thanks for all your advice you lovely lot!
