Is it normal for so many viewers to no show up!?

Hi, we had our house on the market earlier this year and got an offer after a few weeks. The house was then under offer for over 2 months and the buyers ended up pulling out 2 weeks before we were due to move!!
So we took put the house back on the market just over 3 weeks ago, in that time we have had 15 people arrange viewings...only 7 of them have turned up! No other offers yet!
Is it normal for there to be so many no shows!? Its driving me mad! I have a 7 month old dd and two dogs so spending ages cleaning and tidying and making sure the house is spotless and then finding someone to watch the dogs if DH is at work. Its alot of work and time for someone to not turn up when they could just make a 30 second phone call to cancel if they are not planning on coming! So rude. Do I just have really bad luck or is this normal?

Are you sure it's not the estate agent pretending people want to see it so it makes them look good? It's very unusual for that many people to be so rude!

I hadn't thought of that. Do estate agents actually do this?!

Well they're not known for being honest! I've bought and sold twice and was lied to many times by estate agents, they don't care about you however they come across

Could be that then, if it is that is so infuriating! This has been the most stressful process ever, feel like I'm going to be stuck here forever! I wanted to move closer to family for help with childcare when I go back to work in December as they are an hour away at the moment. Cant see that happening now.

Buyers are being extremely flaky at the moment. Even once an offer is made it sounds like so many are falling through these days.

I was a viewing agent for a few years... no way was the no show rate as high as 50%....

^This. 8 no shows is unbelievable. You’ve said yourself the agents are not known for being honest. I would switch agents.

Do the estate agents photos make the house look better than what it really is? Or is the agent ultra pushy? It’s just that we used to get the agent say to us “there’s someone in my office, they’d absolutely love to view your house” but the people hadn’t actually seen the house from the street, only from the agents photos. When they got to the street and realised that it was more “built up” than they’d realised and that the neighbours were very close, and the house was only set a couple of feet back from the road, they didn’t want to see inside. It would have helped if the agents had of given them more realistic expectations.
