Great places to live around Exeter

Hello!

We're thinking of relocating from near Bath to near Exeter to be nearer family (I grew up in Cornwall) and nearer the coast too.

We've got two children who are primary age so a good primary / secondary school is important. We live in a village at the moment so we're looking for something similar with a nice community and a bit going on. Initially my husband would keep his job up near Bath, but the plan is to get a job in Exeter so commuting in and out would be a factor.

So, looking for a good community and schools with great access to the outdoors - too much to ask?! Budget would be 400k-450k

Brampford Speke is a lovely village, and its a 15 minute drive into exeter. it has its own primary school, and its closest secondary school is steiner academy, a 30 minute bus ride or 15 minute drive away x

Topsham is a short train ride away from Exeter, about 10 mins, also has a great cycle path. Not sure about schools as only ever visited but I would move in a heart beat, I love it there.
