You can google it. Its a lot. Obviously depends on what is there at the moment. our next door neighbours have just had theirs taken out due to the massive upkeep costs.

I'm not sure how much it costs to build one but there are not massive upkeep costs. We recently had ours repainted and a new net at a cost of about £3000, no other costs will be needed for many years. Avoid a pool, they have massive upkeep costs!

I can’t help with pricing but friends built a “sports” court. More lines, more options. Basketball, soccer nets and adjustable level middle net (they prefer pickle ball and badminton). Well used.

We were quoted £25000.
Decided against.

The last time i looked in to it was around £30,000.

Wow, that's so expensive. For our next move we want a tennis court, we may reconsider if we can't find a property that already has one.

I think it probably depends on location, climate etc. We are in a cold wet and very shady location surrounded by trees. They were apparently spending a couple of thousand a year on maintenance (cleaning, resurfacing etc) and didn't feel they got that much value out of it.

Upkeep will depend very much on the type of surface! I think the new acrylic surfaces require very little maintenance.

Hi @Alexalee

This thread popped up on my news feed whilst i was at work & i thought i'd give you some feedback as i work for a sports construction company myself & it's a family run business based in Essex.

As others have pointed out above, it can vary massively from around 25k-35k + VAT depending on all different types of factors.

The biggest cost is normally where you are based in the UK as the further you get towards London/Essex & then the South Coast, the more expensive it will be because of the geographic location of virgin materials in this country as most are based up North where the quarries are for limestone & granite etc.

Other variations can include on how flat the area is currently where you want the tennis court & also access into the property. The type of surface you want also depends on the cost. The cheapest of all the surfaces is the standard porous asphalt (tarmac) surface which you can paint to look nice.

I hope this information helps you & please don't hesitate to pick up the phone to call us as all of our advice & technical guidance is completely free & we would be more than happy to help you with anything else you may need.

Kind regards,

Brad
