Wow - wouldn't it be fab to buy that, restore it and run it as a posh b&b? (would have to run it as a b&b as no way we could afford mortgage/repairs.

How stunning!

Lullabyloo · 09/08/2007 10:06

lol Beetroot.....put it in the west country & I would be most tempted

michaelad · 09/08/2007 10:20

property porn..

runs off to ask hubby whether we could free up some cash in time

hippipotami · 09/08/2007 10:22

Oh no, dh just popped home from work, opened the post and is now moaning about the mahoosive credit card bill.

Count me out guys, no baronial house by a Lock for me this month

CountessDracula · 09/08/2007 10:23

oh my god
that view

imagine the midgies!

I really hate the way they have put the wooden floor in diagonally btw

hippipotami · 09/08/2007 10:26

Oh I had not noticed that.
My parents had a biggish open plan house built in Holland, and had the floor tiled diagonally thoughout the downstairs. It drives me mad, the house is an odd shape so there is not a straight line to be found in the place. I spent ages this summer holiday following the lines of tiles in the hope of meeting one wall where they are at a right angle. [must find a more interesting hobby emoticon]

GhostWriter · 09/08/2007 10:26

Oh God that's beautiful. My one dream in life is to move to Scotland and overlook a loch.

Stunning.

hecciesmum · 09/08/2007 13:59

bet it'll eat at least 250k in renovation costs - probably needs a new roof, rewired and will be listed!

Beetroot · 09/08/2007 14:13

I would Hate to live there - but the view really is spetacular - somewhere to hide once in a while

I hate the diagonal too

lol hippipotami!

That's not the view from the house though is it? It's a view of the house from the hill above, the actual view from the house wouldn't be as spectacular especially with all those trees. And the trees are probably necessary to provide shelter from the freezing wind that comes off all Scottish lochs.

Beetroot · 09/08/2007 17:21

I think you are right Bran

Phew glad I didn't buy it
